Antique Victorian dark grey heavyweight wool cape with black Satin wavy swirl decoration which flows along the hem and up the front of the cape.
4 chequered buttons to the front with cross over flaps to fasten.
Single hook and loop to the neck.
The neck band edge has been covered with a fine ribbon, either the original edge is worn or this has made it more comfortable to wear i would imagine as it is thick.
Similar capes like this tend to have a collar but I don’t know whether this ever had one.
It has sewn detail in the form of parallel lines/ ridges around the hem and stitched vertically to the front edge.

Condition:
The collar edge is a little worn in places but otherwise the cape is completely wearable. It is heavy and quite thick.
Hem 114” long.
Shoulder to shoulder 14-15”.
Back neck seam to hem 33 1/4”.
Collar 1 1/4”.
