n very good condition considering over 100 yrs. old. The leather is in wonderful condition with only minor rubbing Overall the brass trim is extremely good and the catch works well and some gild remaining The inner lid is designed with a recess for a pair of glove stretchers and this pair of bone stretchers were present, the bar /piece which would keep them in situ is missing. The blue silk lining is good and complete although it has foxing marks. The case is expandable to house a number of thin delicate gloves. The pair photographed are included as they were in it . They are French, Duchess by Allcroft & Co, they have some marks on one and have creases, 3 mother of pearl buttons and are ivory coloured kid leather. Gild to the metal frame has mostly worn off, The leather handle has minimal wear This case would have been an expensive item when new. Today it can still be used for gloves bits & bobs or just display I have used a leather conditioner on this item to keep the leather supple and to prolong its life
